Built upon the same codebase as bbRad and ShareMyXray, exoPACS is our robust, reliable Enterprise-grade VNA offering.
Business Benefits
- Reduce PACS storage costs – by replacing expensive PACS-vendor provided storage with your own SAN/NAS storage. So there is no waiting for price reductions in disk storage to be ‘passed on’ to you – with exoPACS you benefit immediately.
- Reduce non-Radiology Costs – by consolidating departmental archives, (ie other ‘ologies) into exoPACS VNA and thus lowering overall storage and support-contract expenditure. Information Life Cycle management (ILM) tools enable further cost savings.
- Improve Decision-Making and Productivity – non-Radiology data such a letters, notes, reports are available throughout the Trust at the point of care – and our viewer can be embedded within your EPR application.
- Reduce PACS admin costs – automatic creation of RIS records and PACS import for inbound studies (import automation) saves 100s of man-hours of PACS administration, for example for studies from IEP transfers, outsourced reporting or outsourced imaging services.
Transitional Period
exoPACS integrates with your legacy PACS, proving all systems in readiness for your PACS switch-over. exoPACS integrates with multiple PACS, for example old and new PACS, as well as other archives and ‘ologies.
- Activity triggers pre-fetch of older studies into main PACS
- Pre-fetch ensures near-instant image availability and an excellent clinician experience.
- Updates from RIS are sent to both PACS and VNA ensuring both archives have exactly the same information.
- New studies on PACS are automatically archived to the VNA (or exoPACS can poll for changes if legacy PACS can’t support this).
- Finally rejects, reflex orders and other meta-data are fully supported by exoPACS.

Vendor Neutral – Your Data
exoPACS is truly vendor neutral. Cypher IT have always had an open approach, allowing our customers unencumbered access to their own system and data. The reason we don’t restrict access is because our approach is to earn income by solving problems and adding value; we are a healthcare software company rather than a service or man-days company. Because of this we empower our customers to administer their own system and their own data.
