After provisioning hardware, these basic preparatory tasks are required from the customer, so as we (Cypher IT or your distributor) can perform the rest of the installation.

  • Create a user to be the application owner. By default this is called 'exopacs' or 'bbrad' and requires Administrator (for Windows) or 'sudo' (for Linux) privileges.
If on a Windows domain, ensure this user has the following permissions:
  1. Local machine admin rights
  2. Log on locally (SeInteractiveLogonRight), and remotely over RDP (SeNetworkLogonRight)
  3. Log on as a service (SeServiceLogonRight)
  4. Ensure these rights are not over-written by any Windows Domain Controller when rebooted
  • Ensure FTP over TLS(explicit) outbound is enabled and tested to at least the following IP addresses.
  1. 149.11.71.131 cypher.iweb-storage.com ports 21 and 49152-65535 (FTP over TLS)
  2. 149.11.71.131 cypher.iweb-storage.com port 212 ( FTP over SSH )

  • Enable remote access, using one of the below methods
  1. For UK NHS sites, N3 remote access
  2. Other remote access according to your internal IT policy, such as specific VPN software etc. Please refer to own documentation for this.
  3. Remote access using RDP with 2-factor authentication

  • Advise to us (Cypher IT or your distributor) the following:
  1. remote access details
  2. application owner login details
  3. server MAC address
  4. public IP address
  5. server name, local IP address
