NHS 2013 PACS Data Migration & Transition Service
NHS 2013 Transition Service
Cypher IT’s PACS Transition Service is specifically designed for NHS Trusts to put you in control of your data and your negotiating position; to take the high ground for PACS replacement/extension by having local ownership of your data, and in doing so fulfil the below business objectives:
- Reduce Storage Costs leading up to 2013 and beyond
- Reduce the Total Cost of Transition “TCT”
- ‘Beat the Rush’ on N3 and LSP DataCentres
- PACS Procurement Freedom
Only Cypher IT’s PACS Transition Service meets these objectives by providing:
- Huge cost-savings on hardware storage against Primary PACS.
- Avoiding dual-running of old and new PACS systems; fixed costs for our services
- Flexible architecture, low total cost and proof of concept allow you to start immediately
- Avoiding LSP constraints, so you can choose the best option for you in 2013
By keeping your studies locally on VNA (vendor neutral archive) instead of LSP PACS, you will save significant hardware costs to 2013. The VNA can be our exoPACS or a VNA from a 3rd party.
You also avoid costs by not dual running your old and new PACS together, thanks to having studies locally in your VNA. By having all your historical data locally, you will avoid extending the LSP DataCentre contract.
These two items bring the most significant cash savings.
The Transition Service will automatically keep your VNA in sync with Primary PACS with its Continuous Data Migration (CDM) system. This is instead of a one-off data migration, and ensures changes and new studies are automatically mirrored across to your VNA.
An EPR event listener ensures demographics are kept up to date. This addresses LSP queries regarding data integrity. The listener supports both the existing proprietary interfaces from HSS CRIS, and IHE-standard interfaces from any new vendor you may change to.
Priors are pre-fetched and made available to your local PACS, so that prior imaging is available to the clinician to PACS-standard access times, eg under 3 seconds.
The Primary PACS Archive Module makes your existing PACS XDS-I compliant by servicing XDS-I requests on its behalf. This can be extended to any new PACS, for example if you chose to stay with your existing PACS vendor.
These features mean you are free to choose the most commercially advantageous option that is best for you in 2013.
Cypher IT provide genuine vendor neutrality. You have free access to the source code of our VNA base, and your staff are not blocked from access to administrative features.
There are many unanswered questions regarding LSP services in 2013; we are proposing a Proof of Concept, that demonstrates all the essential features, and allows you to be confident of a return on investment in the Transition Service.
The Proof of Concept in particular empowers you to act decisively, today.
